Cystic Acne Treatments at Home

Cystic acne, or acne vulgaris, is the common type: zits, pimples, whatever you want to call them. Now you might chalk all home remedies up to being little more than old wives tales, but some of them actually work. Here are cystic acne treatments at home that you can use to make a real difference very quickly.

Baking Soda and Sea Salt

A little bit of baking soda mixed with some water, applied once or twice a week, can make a big difference in the quality of your skin. Another method is to do the same but adding a little bit of sea salt to create a paste that you can use on inflamed acne.

Apple Cider Vinegar

This is not the best at fighting acne, but it can prevent it by stabilizing your skin’s pH levels. It works as a sort of a toner. Use this between breakouts and see if they become less frequent.

Aspirin and Honey

Crush up some aspirin, mix it with water to make a paste, and then apply it to your skin. Rinse it off and it will have worked as a pretty good exfoliate. Now apply some honey in order to moisturize and to make use of the antibacterial properties of the stuff.

Mango

Mangoes and other yellow-orange fruits and veggies contain citric acid which can both clean pores out and soften and heal the skin. Creating a paste from mango, you can open clogged pores and clean them out. Rinse with cold water afterwards.

Lemon Juice

While not as effective for cleansing pores, lemon juice can be a big help to treat the inflammation involved with acne. Apply along with a cleansing treatment and you should see some immediate effects.

It should be noted: few of these can be as effective as a good otc acne medication from your local pharmacy, but, if you need to treat zits fast and do not have access to any good medication, these methods should be a big help.
